A new take on the connected wifi speakers segment at that current time. Bold but subtle aesthetics that complements the users homes and a interaction with intuitive controls without losing options and functionalities

How to explain the difference between wifi and bluetooth for the non-technical customer?
We know from our research that the average Sonos customer owned 1.2 speakers. So how to communicate the advantages of WiFi if you already have a bluetooth speaker and don't want a speaker system? We wanted to utilise other aspect of this technology and took inspiration from the old kitchen radios were you got music in a click of a button. New technology should simplify the usage. Not complicate it. This was our mission.

With the created theme "just press play" we wanted to simplify the user experience even though the connectivity offered so many features. Being able to control the most essential functions via the physical top panel and being supported by the application was our goal. This created a process where we constantly moved between the physical and digital space in order to design a consistent experience.

Just press play!
By simplifying the grouping system the user can switch between playing on a single speaker (solo) or multiple (multi) by just pressing the knob. And by introducing the Presets that were created in collaboration with the Spotify Connect team the user could add selected playlists and radiostations to the selected preset and simply start playing music at the press of a button. Just press play!
